Great architectural tradition

A bell tower, the gatehouse to the prestigious college of Christ Church, one of the landmarks of downtown Oxford. It's in St Aldate's, the street from City Hall. It is a tower with a square base, with part of the bell tower is octagonal. It was designed by Christopher Wren, and built in 1680. Oxford is a place of great architectural tradition, though just a university, these places like the palaces of kings. Education was very important. It was King Henry VIII who created the University of Christ Church, one of the most famous of Oxford. The tower is of late Gothic style, in harmony with the original building of the university.
