Beautiful ceilings
The medieval district of Lyon Saint Jean holds various historical monuments including this house. The neighborhood is on the list of world heritage of humanity compiled by UNESCO. Designed in Gothic style, the facade was restored in the eighteenth century, and the early twentieth century: Fuers's family, ve was then the owner of the house, and then Thomassins family ve bought the building at the end of the fourteenth century, numbered amongst the richest families of Lyon. In the building, facing a beautiful courtyard, you can find a false ceiling in 1968, a ceiling painted with the arms of the Fuers, accompanied by Queen Blanche of Castile and King Saint Louis.
The ceiling was of the thirteenth century, painted around 1295, is one of the most beautiful in the country. The place is still a private home, only visitable and open to the public on World Heritage days in September.
