A National Historic Landmark
The Thomas Eakins House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a National Historic Landmark. It was built around 1854 by Thomas Eakins' father. It is a four-story townhouse with three-story brick and wood rooms. Thomas Eakins inherited the house in 1899. He lived there until his death in 1916. The Mural Arts Program, a Philadelphia-based art program that creates outdoor murals, is currently based in the House of Thomas Eakins.
