Worth a visit

This pagoda, located in the Chinatown of Ho Chi Minh City (Cholon), is entered through a gate that takes a bit of work to find. It's dedicated to the goddess of the sea, and was built by the Cantonese community 250 years ago, to thank her for protecting them on their journey by sea from China to Vietnam. The goddess is flanked by two guards, one who watches and one who listens. As in most Chinese temples the predominant colors are red (luck) and gold (prosperity).
