In the restored Sint-Baafsplein you can find the Teatro Real in Ghent, which is notable for its facade. Above the entrance, Apollo and the Muses overlook the square, and at the top the goddess Harmony looks over it all. This is the municipal theater NTGent that although it is related to Ghent, it also has international works.

Le théâtre royal néerlandais se trouve à l’une des extrémités de la place Saint Bavon en s’affirmant comme l’une des trois puissances majeures qui régnaient sur la ville de Gand : l’intelligentsia et son importante vie culturelle. Aujourd’hui encore, on peut y trouver de très nombreux spectacles d’arts dramatiques. Si vous n’assistez à aucune représentation malgré le fait qu’il est fréquent d’y voir des premières, admirez au moins l’architecture pyramidale combinée à un style renaissance qui rend ce monument unique.

Royal Dutch Theatre is one end of the Saint Bavo asserting itself as one of the three major powers who ruled the city of Ghent: the intelligentsia and its important cultural life. Today, one can find many drama performances. If you attend any representation despite the fact that it is common to see it first, at least admire the pyramidal architecture combined with a Renaissance style that makes this unique monument.
