The Walled Village of Ansiaes

The old walled town of Ansiaes, is located about 6 km from the town of Carrazeda of Ansiaes, in the district of Bragança. It is located on a rock that is overlooking a spectacular landscape, partly crossed by the river Tua, and near to the river Douro. It is an medieval town from the seventeenth century, which retains its defensive areas and a beautiful Romanesque church do Salvador, and it also has other ramins from later dates such as a the Sao Joao Bautista. Makes for an interesting visit.
