Pure wilderness

The region of Saja-Nansa is formed mainly by the Saja Valley (and its sub-valleys of Cabuérniga and Cabezon) and the Nansa Valley.

The Cabuérniga valley is located in a mountainous area surrounding the Saja River and is cut off by the Sierra del Escudo range to the north, the Isar range to the south, the Besaya Valley to the east, and the Nansa Valley to the west.

It’s made up of the townships of Cabuérniga, Ruente and Los Tojos, the Campoo-Cabuérniga Commonwealth, and parts of the municipalities of Campo de Suso and Campoo de Enmedio. The whole area is pure nature: green meadows, forests, and streams.

It's an ideal place for rural tourism, hiking, or other outdoor sports. Some of the areas are especially beautiful like the Pass of Carmona, the Terán chestnut grove, or the Viaña Beech Forest.
