The Valentré Bridge

Valentré Bridge is one of the most spectacular sights I've seen in my life and the best I saw in the South of France. The bridge is a little out of the way and takes some finding but it is also another way to see the island. Valentré Bridge, crosses the River Lot west of Cahors, a river that throughout the day you can go by boat. I really recommend this boat trip for visitors. The bridge has three fortified towers with arches impassable. You really feel as if you were in the Middle Ages, if you climb the stairs to the bridge has to soar higher and have more spectacular views of the river and Cahors.

One tip I will give you to see Cahors is to access by car, take the main road and more great because there is one that is really very serpentine with many cliffs and very close but I must also say that it has its charm to go inside a lush forest. Moreover, there are picnic areas around the bridge where you can sit and admire the bridge. If you go to Toulouse, is a highly recommended getaway for a morning or an afternoon.
