It has a terrace overlooking the river
Behind a tiny façade hides this long narrow pub with a small terrace that overlooks the River Thames in Wapping. If you take a small narrow path that's next to the pub you can reach a set of stairs that overlook the river. In the past the Ramsgate fishermen used to sell their catch here. The pub might need a touch of DIY, but if you visit when there aren't a lot of people and get a good spot overlooking the river on a warm summer day you're almost guaranteed a great experience. This pub has interesting connections with former London marines. Perhaps the most famous story is that Bounty commander
William Bligh (famous for the Mutiny on the Bounty) and Fletcher Christian who would later be the leader of the mutiny, took one last drink together at the pub before sailing to Tahiti.
