The Three Arches

Junto a las ruinas de la Iglesia de San Miguel, a las afueras de Ujué, se encuentran estos tres arcos junto a un monolito que nos recuerda el lugar y fecha de la coronación canónica de la Virgen de Ujué. En el monolito podemos leer "AQUI, convertida en altar, cercano al cielo, esta sierra donde el moro no pudo poner su pie, en la mañana radiante del día 8 de Septiembre del Año del Señor 1952..." Desde aquí se obtiene otra bonita de panorámica de Ujué, un pueblo con mucho encanto. Si continuamos el camino, podemos hacer una pequeña ruta de senderismo hasta el montículo que está enfrente, desde donde también tendremos unas preciosas vistas. Famosa es su romería que tiene lugar el domingo siguiente a la festividad de San Marcos (25 de abril), en el que los fieles vestidos con túnicas y capuchas negras portan enormes cruces negras.

Near the ruins of the Church of San Miguel, on the outskirts of Ujue, are these three arches with a monolith that reminds us of the date and place of the canonical coronation of Our Lady of Ujue. The monolith can read "HERE, converted into an altar, close to heaven, these mountains where the Moor could not put his foot in Radiant September 8 1952 the Year of the Lord tomorrow ..." From here you get another nice panning Ujue a charming village. If we continue the way we can do a little hiking path up the mound that is opposite from where we also have beautiful views. Famous is his pilgrimage which takes place on Sunday after the feast of St. Mark (April 25), in which the faithful in robes and black hoods carry huge black crosses.
