Tea ceremony and Japanese architecture
This museum can be reached by bus from Hida Takayama. In about 15 minutes (you will all the information in the tourist office. Museum ticket costs 1000 yen but does include matcha tasting with Japanese sweets which can cost up to 1800 yen. The museum has of 2 buildings, one more contemporary than the other but both have the style of traditional Japanese architecture. Between the 2 buildings there is a zen garden with stone lanterns, pine trees, etc.. 1 building is for tea ceremonies. The other building is the exhibition hall. It is made up of 2 floors where the containers are exhibited with not just tea but all types of tools for the ceremony and accessories, paintings and screens.
