My beautiful San Cristobal de las Casas

In the center of San Cristobal de las Casas roofs converge, there are patios with flowers, cornered balconies, baroque facades, neoclassical and Moorish buildings, colorful crafts, cuisine, ceremonies, processions, festivals and ancient legends. All this in the beautiful downtown that is a marvel to see, on my visit I had a rainy day that altered the climate (which is cold), but in spring the weather is delicious. Around the square are beautiful streets so if you happen, like me, to have a rainy day, there's nothing more delicious than going to a cafe and sipping a rich coffee or hot chocolate

People Watching at San Cristobal

What is it that you can not miss if you go to San Cristobal? Walking, sit at one of the many squares and observing. One is not every day on the cutting edge of a revolution. There are alternative bars, concert halls, film forums, exhibitions, and a vibrant university community. All of these activities live in harmony with most of the residents of the state of Chiapas( one of the poorest in Mexico). Many of the poor indigenous communities adjacent to San Cristobal come here to sell their crafts, roast and sell corn (maize) or simply to beg. But, despite all this, there is an atmosphere of joy and an unparalleled social conscience.
