Craft beer bar in Borough Market
The Rake is a classic craft beer bar in the heart of London’s Borough Market. They have over 130 different beers and ciders in bottles, seven different taps, and a couple of cask ale pumps. If you have any doubts about what to order or are not sure about the differences between anything on tap, just ask the bartenders as they’re a jovial bunch and happy to give advice. They have a small menu of bar snacks like olive and chips and the like.
The best part of the Rake (aside from the amazing beers, of course) is it’s outdoor terrace. If you go at lunchtime or right then work gets off, the place is jam-packed and you can barely squeeze through to get to the bar. However, if you go during an off-hour like I did (around 11:00am) you can get a cold, flavorful pint and sit out in the sun in their quaint little ivy-lined terrace. Believe me when I say it’s like an oasis of peace in the heart of busy, urban London.
