Prince's Palace of Monaco

The Prince's Palace of Monaco in the city of Monaco, the capital of this tiny principality, has its origins in the 1200's. It was a fortress consisting of four towers each 8 meters high that can still be seen out today marking the perimeter of the Palace. Like many castles in Europe, the original fortress has undergone many changes and transformations over the years, which had became a palatial residence by the sixteenth century on the way acquiring Renaissance traits by incorporating new halls, chapels, courtyards, barracks and gates. Its rooms were filled with paintings, tapestries, artwork and frescoes by renowned artists of various eras.
