Transfixed by the spectacle of color
When you get to Mirepoix and park in the outer zone, (there's no parking available) you feel a bit let down, asking yourself if it was worth coming because the outside area looks a bit lonely and abandoned. Well don't worry because once you're inside the center of the village you realize that you've made the correct decision. Bit by bit the medieval city begins to appear along with its colorful houses, delicately made with wood. Suddenly, when you start to be spellbound with these houses, you're transfixed by the spectacle of color, beauty and elegance of the Place des Couvertes. Having seen towns, villages and cities in France, there comes a time when you think there can be nothing more and you're just proving wrong once again.
You find a place, a corner, something that leaves you speechless. In this place, you have to stop, observe and enjoy the wonders that surrounds you with the myriad of colors that are on the walls, in shops, bars and resturants. Every house, every detail is worth a picture. Care is admirable as the French heritage. The structures are preserved from the Middle Ages, between the 18th and 19th centuries. You can see old lofts and dilapidated porches. The beautiful and romantic Mirepoix has earned a place of honor in my favorite spots.
