The Palm Tree in Warsaw

In the center of Warsaw, a city in Northern Europe, it's cold and snow covers the streets for most of the winter, but there's a palm tree! It was planted on December 12, 2002 by Joanna Rajkowska as part of the the project "Greetings from Jerusalem Avenue", the project was to highlight the importance of the history of this street, Avenue of Jerusalem, and the vacuum caused by the lack of the Jewish community. It was supposed to also be a social experiment, to check if Poles were ready to absorb an article as culturally strange and it seems to have been very well accepted!
