The Molinon football stadium is home to Club Real Sporting de Gijón. It has a total capacity of 25,885. Although it now belongs to the municipality, it went through different owners in the past. It dates from the early 20th century. It's appearance is really quite painful, with chipped walls. It definitely needs a good remodelling. It has ample parking. Besides sporting events, the stadium is also used occasionally as a concert hall, especially during the summer. The venue has hosted artists like Tina Tarner, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney. It lies at the mouth of the Piles, across the street from Queen Isabella and the Parador Hotel.

The Trade Fair and the Village Museum of Asturias are close by.

Venir a ver un partido a este estadio fue lo mejor que pude haber hecho. Imprescindible. Además, ahora ha sido remodelado. Una pasada...de verdad a los que les apasione el fútbol, deben ir a este estadio.

Rodeado de parque ideal para ir andando desde la playa (los días de partido es difícil aparcar). Además de la tienda del Sporting hay otros locales en su parte baja.

Surrounded by an ideal park to walk from the beach (on game days it is difficult to park). In addition to the Sporting shop there are other premises in its lower part.

Incluso como afición visitante como fue mi caso. Gran ambiente futbolístico y en los bajos del mismo gran variedad gastronómica con sitios magníficos para comer típica gastronomía asturiana.

Even as a visitor hobby as was my case. Great football atmosphere and on the ground floor of the same great gastronomic variety with magnificent places to eat typical Asturian gastronomy.
