eXplorador Escocés
Wide and varied menu
Between Durham and Sunderland, and very close to the Angel of the North, you can find this restaurant pub on the highway. It's one of the best examples I know of the evolution of British cuisine and a place that demystifies the familiar cliché about the poor quality of cuisine. The décor is traditional: fireplace, wood beams among other things. A wide and varied menu: Food, wine and beer, plus good service, makes this place an excellent restaurant. Whenever we are in the area we love to return and we have been a few times already. It's an ideal place if you want to celebrate something in the North-East (Newcastle area).
