My go-to restaurant in Dollar
At first glance, King's Seat Restaurant and Bar is just a local pub and restaurant in Dollar but it's probably the go-to restaurant for locals in Dollar and surrounding towns. The pub part is really just the exterior and visitors shouldn't underestimate the quality of the food served inside.
The owners have recently built three rooms on the top floor to provide inn-style lodging to increase visitors because, despite being a nice little town, Dollar isn't exactly the most popular place in the world for tourists. They have a decent selection of beer and wine, friendly customer service, and great chef's specials like Haggis meatloaf with whiskey sauce (a curious update of the traditional Scottish dish), grilled premium Scottish beef with sauce, and different types of curries. They change the menu regularly and you can sign up to their newsletter to stay abreast of the new dishes.
