Ideal place to dive

Cozumel is also known as "Isla de las Golondrinas." It's Mexico's largest island and is a destination that has it all. It's surrounded by jungles and rocky coasts, although it does have fine, white-sand beaches (seriously, the sand is like powder) and the gorgeous waters of the Mayan Riviera. It's home to the world's second largest coral reef, a fact which led the famous researcher Jacques Cousteau to visit the area and document the underwater world.

Today, its docks receive thousands of cruise ships each year and, in fact, it was a destination for the world's largest cruise ship during its maiden voyage. You'll find hotels of all classes and chains, as well as the world's smallest Hard Rock Café, golf courses, spas, and all kinds of restaurants that serve global cuisine but still retain a simple, Caribbean charm.

The Island of the Swallows

"Cuzam" which means "swallow" and "Lumil" meaning "land of" forming the word Cuzamil: Land of the Swallows, is a Mexican island, the third largest and second most populous in the country. The Island of Swallows is southeast of Mexico, in the Caribbean Sea. It's about fifty miles away from Cancun and is (along with two inland enclaves Calica and Xel-Ha) one of the nine municipalities of Quintana Roo. Don't miss it, it's gorgeous!
