The Inn at Muckhart
The Inn at Muckhart was founded in 1806. It was an important stopover for public tranporters on horseback to rest or spend the night on the road between Stirling and Edinburgh. The building and the pub área is virtually intact. The food in the pub is great with even better local beer (county of Clackman, close to the village of Dollar). The pub is interesting, but the highlight is the new área of country huts. They are of different sizes, very modern, well equipped and hold such a good reputation that they have been awarded 4-star rating. It´s great value for money, a traditional pub right next to the inn and it is central, allowing the traveler to be between Edinburgh, Stirling and even Perth.
