The Hórreo in Carnota

Uno de los dos hórreos más largos de Galicia se encuentra muy cerca de la plaza de la villa de Carnota. Construido entre los años 1768 y 1783 en dos fases, en competencia con el hórreo de la parroquia de [poi=222361]Lira [/poi]que tiene otro similar, ambos realizados en piedra, con 22 pares de pies y de estilo fisterrán. Este importante monumento forma parte de un conjunto arquitectónico compuesto por el hórreo, un palomar, y la iglesia. Su autor, el arquitecto Gregorio Quintela, transformó en objeto de belleza una construcción de tipo funcional, como es un hórreo, donde se guardaban y secaban los productos del campo.

One of the two longest granaries in Galicia is very close to the square of the town of Carnota.
