The Getty Villa

Less famous than the Getty Museum but is just as interesting. It is located in Malibu and about 18 kilometers from the heart of Hollywood Boulevard. The museum staff is very friendly and provides all kinds of accommodations. Villa is a recreation of a Roman house, although much larger and adapted to the museum's needs. The collection began in the thirties of the last century by billionaire Jean Paul Getty and includes parts of Greece, Rome and Etruria. It was opened to the public in 1974.
