A historic bridge
The Forth Bridge, a masterpiece of 19th century engineering, is located just over 10 miles from Edinburgh. It is a 2.5 km long railway bridge that runs about 50m above sea level, connecting the capital with the Scottish region of Fife. Completed in 1890, it was the first steel bridge to be built in Britain. Because of its historical importance, it is considered to be one of the most important attractions in Scotland.
