Chiang Mai Flower Festival

Every year, usually during the first or second weekend in February when winter is in full swing, a Thai festival takes place called "Flower Festival" in Chiang Mai. It is like a carnival with parades, floats, etc but all dedicated to flowers. It is certainly a tremendously authentic Thai event and is worth seeing. The people are very friendly and the weather is great. At night, one of the parks in Chiang Mai is filled with stalls selling food, flowers and strawberries. Try it, and see something different.
