Este mercado tan bonito abrió sus puertas por primera vez en 1988, en la clásica esquina de Niceto Vega y Dorrego. Allí fue que funciono durante 18 años consecutivos, de Martes a Domingo, hasta que en Diciembre del 2005 se mudo a lo que es su actual ubicación entre las calles Conde, Dorrego y Gral. E Martinez.
Visitar el mercado es descubrir que es un mundo propio, que sus comerciantes parece vivieran siempre instalados en aquella silla frente a televisor, lámpara y vajilla antigua, detenidos en el tiempo que era.
Es curioso notar que el recorrido del mercado esta organizado a través de 6 pasillos denominados cada uno con las letras de la palabra PULGAS.
