This is not the Crystal Palace in Madrid, when it was built in the nineteenth century it was inspired by the London Crystal Palace and was made to accommodate industrial and agricultural fairs. It was demolished in 1951 and a Pavillion was built on the site that is still popularly called Crystal Palace. The current 30 meters high Crystal Palace is set in beautiful gardens and is an indoor arena for sporting purposes and trade shows with capacity for 5,000 people.
