The Patio
Porto Vecchio is known for being a predominantly touristy area, and very "chic" at that. More than just a few celebrities spend their holidays around here. The historic city center was nice, and you can't help but notice the beautiful patio. This beautiful dry stone building was an old hospital for Genoa soldiers. Its brick vault is typical of Porto Vecchio, and you can still can see the "ravens", i.e., the holes in the walls where the workers used to rig up the scaffolding during the construction of the building. In the square in front of the house, there's a bar that shares the same name. It's the perfect place for a night out.
Its terrace with benches with cushions, and multicolored neon lights, invite you to sit and enjoy a lively atmosphere. There are cocktails, and the menu offers different things to choose from. During the busy season, there are concerts in the square. A place well worth a visit, both for the architecture of the courtyard, the building, and for the atmosphere of the bar of the same name!
