The Castle Rock
It is difficult to date the construction of this pub, one of the most historic in the city. There is evidence to suggest that it was built in the early decades of the nineteenth century. Firstly, it is attached to the ruins of the house of John Cowane and secondly, it is in the same area as the Settle Inn, the oldest beer house in the city and back in the day, inn. Maybe this place was inaugurated trying to corner the success of the inn as it is a shortcut to the castle court. Currently it works perfectly, being a classic captive for a drink and to enjoy good local company and have fun in general.
