Dirty, smelly, and expensive
A youth hostel in Amsterdam's famous red light district. The showers and toilets are in the same room. The smell was unbearable when I stayed there, and we had to sleep with the windows open because it was impossible to be inside the room. It's not cheap, either. On the plus side, there's a good bar downstairs (yes, it smells of marijuana), and a great, lively atmosphere among the travelers. The location is good in theory, right in the middle of the red light district, but after being there I probably would have gone to a quieter place. I would not recommend it.
