The Brouard District
Visitors to the medieval district of Brouard fall in love with the beauty of its narrow, cobbled streets, steep steps that lead towards the top of the village and are surprised by the abundance of libraries, booksellers and other shops related to the world of books, writing and image (bookbinders, illustrators, calligraphers, stationers, art galleries ...) To what do we owe this wonderful concentration of art and culture in such a small space? The mystery was solved when we found out that in 2000 the village of Montmorillon was officially named as the City of Scripture and Arts-Crafts-Book and has since become a center of attraction for all kinds of specialists related to the world of books.
