The Art Institute of Chicago

This isn't just about the fabulous museum and any old normal visit. This is about the events that take place at the art institute.

Recently the museum has hosted an exhibit of Rene Magritte over the last several months. We heard about a night event for the exhibit at the museum with DJ's and food and a guide. Of course we were interested.

If the Art Institute is going to do an event then they do it big! They invited a local theatre company to come and perform, had a few DJ's cycle through, lights, cash bar, food (including a plate of bacon!) and extremely patient lectures helping all the people through the exhibit.

Whenever I travel to Chicago from my home in Detroit, I always try to visit the Art Institute which has a fabulous collection of paintings from my favorite artist- Claude Monet. I have always wanted to travel to France (never been outside North America), and don't know if I'd be able to before I die. It would be so fantastic to visit the sites that inspired his paintings.

A place that picks up the culture and art in the city of Chicago and makes us travel through time.

Iif you're into art, this place has some great masterpieces by very well-known classis and contemporary artists.
