Beautiful and hidden place
It is certainly one of the most beautiful and hidden places on Easter Island, there are no signs to show you how to get there and you are only likely to find it if you venture out. The ground level entrance is about 50 cm in diameter, at first you have to shuffle as the floor is uneven and wet inside. Originally the islanders sent lepers who were doomed to die here and the only way out (in addition to the entrance that was walled up with rocks) are 2 cliffs about 100 meters from the ocean and rocks waiting for you to fall. Nowadays the volcanic formation is a viewpoint, being there reminds you how small we are compared to the vast ocean.
