The Witch Eye

On the heights of Thann lay the ruins of the Engelbourg Castle (XIII century). There is not much of it left. The fort was destroyed by an order from Louis XIV in the 17th century. The 'Eye of the Witch' is just a part of the main tower which fell in this position and never moved. The ruins are accessible from the nearby Thann by many paths and pedestrian walks. The view from this promontory of Thann is breathtaking.
