Tepuy Autana

Autana, is the tree of life for the Yanomami tribe, a spectacular tepui located in the Amazonas sacred state of Venezuela at 1,220 m (4,000 f) above sea level. You can not climb to the right, but you can see it in a Mirardor. From the port it takes 2 hours travelling by car from Pto Ayacucho, or, by boat, it takes about 5 hours. Upon arriving in the jungle, it is a further 2 hour walk to find the tree.

Tepuy Cerro Autana

About four years ago I met several corners of my country with my French boyfriend and one of these places was the tepui Autana. To get Samariapo is taken from the port (Puerto Ayacucho) a vessel called "canoe" that is simply a rather long wooden boat with a motor on one end; then delves into the Orinoco River after passing through the river to reach the Sipapo Autana river. It is a sacred mountain so the Piaroa Indians dare not tread.
