Templo Cao Dai

Ubicado en la ciudad costera de Da Nang, en el centro de Vietnam, el Templo Cao Dai es uno de los principales atractivos de la zona. Fue construido en 1956 y es la estructura más grande de la religión Cao Dai fuera de la construcción principal en la ciudad de Tay Ninh. La religión caodaísta es originaria de Vietnam y se practica casi exclusivamente en este país. Integra elementos del cristianismo, el hinduismo y el islamismo, aunque su estructura se asemeja a la del catolicismo. En los rituales caodaístas se incluyen cantos, rezos y supuestas revelaciones de personajes fallecidos como Mahoma o Lenin. El símbolo de la religión es un ojo (representando el ojo de Dios) dentro de un triángulo. Justamente en el Templo Cao Dai de Da Nang, al fondo del altar, se encuentra una gran esfera azul con un ojo viendo de frente a los creyentes. Una de las reglas para ingresar al templo es que los hombres deben hacerlo en fila por la puerta derecha, mientras que las mujeres lo hacen por la izquierda. La puerta central es exclusiva para los sacerdotes. En la fachada del templo, hay un cartel en vietnamita que lee “todas las religiones tienen el mismo fin”, mientras que dentro del templo hay cinco cuadros con pinturas de los fundadores de las cinco religiones principales del planeta (Mahoma, Lao Tse, Buda, Jesús y Confucio). Es –sin duda- uno de los sitios que hay que visitar si se está en la ciudad de Da Nang. Conocer religiones tan poco extendidas es una de las experiencias más fascinantes que un viajero puede tener.

Located in the coastal city of Da Nang in central Vietnam, Cao Dai Temple is one of the main attractions of the area. It was built in 1956 and is the largest structure of the Cao Dai religion outside the main building in the city of Tay Ninh. The Cao Dai religion is originally from Vietnam and practiced almost exclusively in this country. It integrates elements of Christianity, Hinduism and Islam, although its structure resembles that of Catholicism. In Caodaists ritual chants, prayers and supposed revelations of deceased personages like Muhammad or Lenin are included. The symbol of religion is an eye (representing the eye of God) within a triangle. Just Cao Dai Temple in Da Nang, at the bottom of the altar is a large blue sphere with an eye watching facing believers. One of the rules to enter the temple is that men should do so in line for the right door, while women do so on the left. The central door is exclusively for priests. On the facade of the temple, there is a sign in Vietnamese that reads "all religions have the same goal", while inside the temple there are five paintings with paintings of the founders of the five major religions of the world (Muhammad, Lao Tzu, Buddha Jesus and Confucius). It is, no doubt, one of the sites to be visited if you are in the city of Da Nang. Knowing so little widespread religions is one of the most fascinating experiences a traveler can have.
