Temple of Vesta

The Temple of Vesta housed the sacred fire of the city. The preservation of this fire was initially left to the king's daughters. But later, this important mission was entrusted to six priestesses. Their priesthood lasted for thirty years, and during this time they had to preserve their virginity or they were buried alive. Near the remains of the building, famous for its harmony and elegance, we found the house of the Vestals. This was a multi-story building that was around a few ponds. It is one of the most beautiful places around the Roman Forum.
