Tarascon

Excellent

Tarascon is a small Provencal village situated on the banks of the Rhone. It has a special touch that is unlike the other bourgeois villages and towns that I stopped in in Provence. This little town really surprised us because it is filled with great tourist spots, but we thought it was a ghost town. This could have been because everyone was sleeping during the summer heat. Aside from the story, Tarascon is a nice peaceful town that has one of the most beautiful medieval castles in southern France and a port on the Rhone cute. Tarascon reminds a little of the stain as is his most illustrious Tartarin, an adventurer Don Quixote style created by writer Daudet Alphonso to ridicule the people of the city.

You can imagine seeing this "ridiculous" character. While were walking through the streets discovered another character that has made the town famous: The Tarasque, semi-mythological character that configures one of the most attractive festivals and legends of Provence. Do not miss the beautiful picture you see of the city from the river and its neighboring city views from which only separated the waters of the Rhone: Beaucaire.
