Delicious food, excellent service
Today I'm going to tell you about one of the most important and fashionable restaurants in Florianopolis, located in the exclusive area of Jurere Internacional, in the north of the island. Unfortunately I don't have any photos. I'm not much of a photographer, and I tend to rely on my wife, Laura, who takes her camera with her everywhere she goes. I found Taiko by chance. A few years ago, in 2007, we went to spend a few days in Florianopolis in winter, as it's a place that we both love. We stayed at the Pousado do Cha, a charming little hotel which we'd been to before.
On the second or third night of our stay, we decided to go out to have dinner somewhere, and began looking for a good spot. When we found Taiko, the name suggested that we were looking at a Japanese restaurant and, as my wife loves Japanese food, we decided to go in. It's very welcoming - the back opens out directly onto the beach, with several chairs and tables outside (which we didn't want to use, as it was the middle of winter). After exchanging greetings, we were given a Spanish-speaking waitress. It's not necessary, as we've spent several years in Brazil and both speak Portuguese very well, but it was still a nice touch! I had Japanese food, but the kitchen is fully international. We ate very well, with good Chilean wine, and we were so pleased that we went back twice more during our stay.
