Very popular among San Francisco locals
The Swan Oyster Depot is a popular little restaurant among San Francisco locals. The photos that adorn the walls of the small place indeed attest to their historic success, and I noticed that many of the waiters still serving appeared in the old black and white photos. You usually have to wait in a long line to get served as there is only a bar with stools and short menu hung on the walls. You file through and pick up your order of shrimp, oysters, crab, octopus, or fish soup, all served fresh. I have to admit that the place is expensive: a small cocktail shrimp in tomato sauce (7 shrimp in total) came out to $14! And that's not including drinks.
