Sunbury on Thames
We went for a walk along the banks of the River Thames, before it passes through London, in Sunbury on Thames. Sunbury is about 25 miles away from London, in the department of Surrey, which is famous for its green hills and charming villages. A lot of people come here to have their Sunday lunch in the sun and on the river, outside the city. Sunbury is an ancient city, there's evidence of a human presence there since the Bronze Age, in the 10th century BC. Then the Huguenots came to the area, and there were also some Protestants fleeing France because their religion had been banned by King Louis XIV.
