Street Market

In Huaraz, every Saturday the downtown streets are invaded by a giant flea market that sells all kinds of products. You can find all kinds of fruits, vegetables, food and many other things here. The stalls are very old and in bad condition, some vendors just put sheets on the floor and others have a wooden stand and there are vendors that do not use stalls at all but go through the streets carrying their products and offering them to all who pass. The market is full of color and I loved it. Also, what I noticed is that there are very few tourists, it is a market for local people and therefore they are surprised when they see you stopping by.

There are some foods that are a bit surprising because the hygiene is not what we are used to, but visiting this place is one of the best ways to experience the true traditions and culture of the people of this area of Peru. As you can imagine, the prices are very cheap for example, for less than fifty cents you can get up to 20 lemons.
