One of the busiest streets in Salamanca

Calle La Compañia is a long, wide street that runs from Plaza de las Agustinas to the University of Salamanca. Despite the small number of bars and shops, it remains one of the busiest streets in the city centre - especially in the early morning when workers and students are heading out. As far as cultural landmarks go, you have the Casa de las Conchas (now a public library), the Pontifical University, the Palacio de Monterrey, the Church of San Benito and in the middle of the street, a Clock Museum with a large collection from different eras and sizes. During several times of the year, like the festivals in September, the street becomes more crowded than usual with revelers and bars set up on the street.
