Storks in the Park

We got a real surprise when facing the garden of the Civil Government of Castelo Branco - a gigantic stork made in PVC and multiple colors. This project was undertaken and carried out from July 4, 2010 by local schools and various city organizations because of the large number of storks living in the municipality. This project was called Song of the Stork and among other things they aim to get Castelo Branco visitors to see it's a region that cares and protects most of the white storks. We also learned that there is a beautiful and melancholy poem called Aviso das Cegonhas by João Teixeira de Sousa.
