Stone Cross of Independence

The Cruzeiro de la Independencia (stone cross) is a patriotic tribute to 1644, as is noted in a commemorative plaque, which was remembered by Lanhelas' inhabitants in 1944. It stands at the top of a hill with great view over the river Miño. The stone cross is accessible by stairs inside and has stunning views over the village and a large panoramic view of Lanhelas and the river Miño near its mouth. Surrounding the stone cross is a recreational area with wooden tables and places dedicated to rest, leisure and relaxation.
