Stone Bull

Esta escultura es el símbolo de la ciudad, de donde se cree que proviene su nombre y su escudo, y se encuentra situado a la entrada de la ciudad, junto a la [poi=100598]Puerta de Santa Catalina[/poi], en la rotonda de la Ctra N-122 al lado de la gasolinera. Es una figura esculpida en piedra representativa de un toro y data de la segunda edad de hierro. Este tipo de esculturas se colocaban como hitos en los caminos importantes y se creía que atraían la lluvia propiciando la fertilidad de los campos, convirtiéndose en símbolo de fuerza y fertilidad. Está muy desgastada, por lo que no me parece muy explicable que la tengan totalmente a la intemperie, dejando que siga erosionándose.
