A nice cafe
One of the historic cafes of Trieste. It opened in 1865, in the same place where it still stands today, next to the Grand Canal and just steps from the Church of St. Anthony and the Temple of Saint Spyridon. It has Viennese-style furniture, as you'll find in many other cafes in the city, such as the Tommaseo. The prices are not the cheapest, but it's worth stopping here to soak up the atmosphere of the Austro-Hungarian Empire that still permeates the city. In the summertime, many of the tables are outside, making it perfect for watching people walking in Via Dante, which is one of the busiest streets
