Statue of D. Alfonso Molina Padilla

In a small square at the entrance to the village of Colmenar, there is a beautiful statue of a man accompanied by a child. The statue honors D. Molina Alfonso Padilla, who was an attorney in the Colmenar district during last century's monarchy, and, upon his death, created a Charitable Foundation through his will, the teacher's "Jesus Orphanage Candelaria Padilla Molina." Today, Colmenar City Council awards scholarships to the children of the Colmenar Padilla Molina Foundation.
