A Montpellier, c'est relativement rare de voir le portrait sculpté d'une femme. Rare sont celles à avoir eu ce privilège et ici c'est Madame Roland qui l'a eu ! En fait, ce portrait a été réalisé en mémoire de ce personnage. C'était Manon Philipen, une femme de caractère qui écrivit des articles ( ils furent publiées alors que l'on était au XVIIIème siècle ! ). Malheuresement si son portrait nous est présenté c'est que Madame Roland fut guillotiné en 1793, pendant la révolution française.

In fact, this portrait was made in memory of this character. It was Philipen Manon, a woman of character who wrote articles (they were published while it was in the eighteenth century). Unfortunately if his portrait is presented to us is that Madame Roland was guillotined in 1793 during the French Revolution.
