The beginning or the Ending of the Processions
On Plaza de la Hispanidad, at Aguirre Street, there is an eye-catching church: San Esteban. It is famous in Cuenca mostly because it is the beginning or the ending of some of the Holy Week's religious processions, loved by the locals.
In fact, the Holy Week of Cuenca is quite famous in Spain. For example, The Vera Cruz procession on Holy Monday, the procession of silence on Holy Wednesday and the Stations of the Cross on Holy Friday, are some of the processions during which this church has an important role.
